To assess the condition of the facility in preparation for the upcoming SUI Generis Mission (Free Medical/Surgical Mission) to be held at the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) Facility in Doña Helen, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands, the Chief of Staff to the Governor and also the Provincial Information Officer, Atty. Niel Edward M. Demerey, together with representatives from the Provincial Health Office, Dinagat District Hospital, Albor District Hospital, and Loreto District Hospital, personally visited the said facility to conduct a site inspection and ensure that the area is fully prepared for the upcoming free medical and surgical mission to be conducted in the province.

The SUI Generis Mission Group, in collaboration with the Provincial Health Office and with the support of the Provincial Government, will conduct the SUI Generis Mission (Free Medical Mission)—a large humanitarian medical outreach program aimed at providing free surgical procedures, dental services, ophthalmologic care, and other specialized medical services to communities that are underserved and geographically isolated within the province.

The inspection was joined by Dr. Reygie Marsada from Dinagat District Hospital, Dr. Juan Garchitorena from PDOHO, representatives from Albor District Hospital and Loreto District Hospital, as well as staff from the BUCAS Facility.

The mission is scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 3, 2026, offering the following services:

  3. Laparoscopic Herniorrhaphy (Adult and Child)
  4. Hemorrhoids
  5. Colorectal and other Anal Surgeries
  6. Gynecological Cases
  7. AV Fistula (Creation and Repair)
  8. Minor Surgeries
  9. Ophthalmology (Cataract and Pterygium)
  10. Optometry
  11. Dental Services
  12. Endoscopy
  13. Colonoscopy
  14. ECG
  15. Ultrasound
