In line with the Provincial Government’s continued commitment to responsive and inclusive development, three (3) infrastructure projects were formally turned over on February 17, 2026, under the administration of Governor Nilo P. Demerey Jr. The projects were implemented through the Provincial Engineering Office headed by Provincial Engineer Lord Iveen T. Maybuena and are located in Barangay Cuarinta and Barangay Wilson, Municipality of San Jose, Province of Dinagat Islands.

The completed infrastructure projects are as follows:

  • Construction of Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) Building – Php 896,375.82
  • Construction of Farm Machinery Storage Unit (Warehouse Type), Capitol Grounds, Barangay Cuarinta, San Jose, PDI – Php 4,999,940.35
  • Child and Women Welfare Program – Construction of Bahay Pag-asa – Php 4,996,764.66

These projects were undertaken to address priority community needs, strengthen local services, and enhance program delivery in the areas of environmental management, agricultural support, and social welfare services.

In his message during the turnover ceremony, Governor Demerey emphasized that the sustained implementation of strategic development projects reflects the Provincial Government’s firm dedication to improving the quality of life of all Dinagatnons. He underscored that these infrastructures serve not only as functional facilities but also as tangible manifestations of effective governance, institutional collaboration, and unified public service.

The Governor further expressed his appreciation to the officials and personnel whose commitment and collective efforts have contributed to the Province’s continued recognition and achievements, reinforcing the shared vision of a progressive, resilient, and prosperous Dinagat Islands.

Present during the turnover ceremony were Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan; Provincial Planning and Development Office Coordinator Jorge C. Daligdig; PENRO-LGU Dennis Bañacia; PSWD Officer Zenaida Lerma Escopete; department heads; and officials from Barangay Cuarinta and Barangay Wilson, headed respectively by Hon. Marieto B. Gajelloma and Hon. Pedro E. Olaco.
