
Philippine Film Studios, Inc. conducted a courtesy call at the Office of the Governor today as part of their visit to the Province of Dinagat Islands to explore potential filming locations within the province. The delegation was warmly received by Governor Nilo P. Demerey Jr., who expressed his support and appreciation for the initiative.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the representatives to personally present their plans and intentions following their identification of Dinagat Islands as one of the areas with strong potential for film production. During the discussion, Governor Demerey proudly highlighted the province’s scenic tourist destinations, ongoing development projects, and the continuing efforts of the Provincial Government to further advance the province’s progress and development.
Philippine Film Studios, Inc. is a service provider for various film and entertainment productions, including the internationally renowned television franchise Survivor. According to the representatives, their visit aims to conduct an ocular inspection of several sites across the province to assess suitable locations that may be developed and promoted as filming destinations for foreign productions.
The initiative is expected to further showcase the natural beauty and potential of Dinagat Islands as a destination for international film and television productions. It is also anticipated to generate additional opportunities for tourism growth and local economic development.
Members of the visiting delegation included Lope Juban III, JohnBel Martinez, and Jelene Villena. Also present during the meeting were Benlen Navas and personnel from the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office.
