DAVAO CITY — Officials from the local government attended the Executive Conference on the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) held at the Project Support Office (PSO) Mindanao in Davao City.
The activity aimed to accelerate the implementation of PRDP projects funded by the World Bank through the Department of Agriculture (DA). One of the key agenda items discussed was the follow-up on the repackaging of Subproject No. 1, which includes the concreting of the Sering–Plaridel Farm-to-Market Road located in the Municipality of Libjo. The project is expected to help improve agricultural transportation and enhance the livelihood of local farmers.
According to reports, coordination between the local government and PSO Mindanao is essential to ensure the smooth implementation of the project and proper compliance with PRDP requirements. The approval of the repackaging is anticipated to pave the way for the faster commencement of construction of the farm-to-market road.
In his statement, Governor Nilo P. Demerey Jr., MPM, emphasized the importance of these projects for Dinagat Islands, highlighting their role in supporting farmers and increasing agricultural productivity. The Province of Dinagat Islands currently has three (3) proposed PRDP projects that are expected to be implemented at the soonest possible time.
