The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) paid a courtesy visit to the office of Governor Nilo P. Demerey, Jr., MPM on May 22, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to inform the Governor about their project monitoring activities conducted in Tubajon and Dinagat, Dinagat Islands on May 22–23, 2025, for their ongoing project titled “Community-based Soil Health Management and Sustainability in the Municipalities of Dinagat Islands and Agusan del Sur.”

Following their meeting with the Governor, the group immediately commenced the monitoring of the said project. This initiative aims to assess the progress of the project, identify the challenges faced by its implementers, and ensure that the research outputs are translated into practical benefits for the local farming communities.

Present during the activity were BFAR-Caraga Regional Director Omnia Olama, BFAR-Dinagat Islands Provincial Director Bernard Baclayo, Provincial Agriculturist Rico B. Galinato, along with their staff.
