Bugkosan sa Isla - Dinagatan Festival 2009 |

“BUGKOSAN Sa Isla… Dinagatan Festival” 2009 is an official cultural festivity in the province of Dinagat Islands. It is a week long celebration to observe the chartering of the province. It is the islands’ Best Unique Gatherings for Kudos (credit and glory for achievements) Organized for Sustainable Advocacies and Networking developments (BUGKOSAN).
This is a yearly harvest of Agricultural & Aqua Marine Programs; exhibition of Traditional & Modern Medical Tourism, Sports Tourism, Cultural and Historical Tourism, Bio-Diversity and Eco-Tourism; reaps and showcases of individual talented Dinagatnons in their different fields of Visual Art Works, Handicrafts; developing a high valued local Food and Beverages; educating conventional & contemporary Dances and fostering/cultivating traditional Songs.
It is an official Stationary and Street Dancing Mardi grass competition in the province of Dinagat Islands that will be participated in by different Secondary Schools within the municipalities of Basilisa, Cagdianao, Dinagat, Libjo, Loreto, San Jose and Tubajon. This is a merry making culminating festivity on the street and a stationary dancing in a designated area for final showdown.
This festivity will be staged annually every December in commemoration of “IKA-3 KAADLAWAN NG PROBINSYA”. This year’s “BUGKOSAN SA ISLA… Dinagatan Festival 2009” Stationary and Street Dancing Mardi Grass Competition will be held again in the municipality of San Jose the Capital Town and the Business Center of the province.
Added BUGKOSAN attraction Activities are as follows: BUGKOSAN Provincial Employees’ Sports Feast, BUGKOSAN Agro-Industrial Fair, De-Kalibre BUGKOSAN Food Feast, BUGKOSAN Destination Tourism Booth, BUGKOSAN Drum Beat Showdown, and BUGKOSAN Fireworks Display. |

The Provincial Government of Dinagat Islands thru the Provincial Information Office in its mandate to provide responsible information has launched the province’ first local TV Program yesterday August 17, 2009 at 7:30 in the evening which was anchored by Jimmy S. Jara. Said program was dubbed as “PDI Patrol” which caters news, current affairs, updates and developments of the National Line Agencies, Local Government Units from provincial, municipal and down to the barangays. It will also foster programs and initiatives of the Non-Government Organizations, People’s Organizations and other private sectors. This program will be regularly aired at every 5:00 to 6:00 o’clock in the afternoon of Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at DIMPC-Channel 5 in Municipality of San Jose and that of NEWS-MPC Cable Network-Channel 9 which could be seen by its subscribers in the municipalities of Basilisa, Cagdianao, Dinagat and San Jose.
PDI Patrol aims to keep the Dinagatnons be informed, grasp, relate and identify important issues for a peaceful province with balanced development. The Provincial Officials, Department Heads, National Line Agencies and other sectors existing in the Province of Dinagat Islands have extended its full support for the realization of this pet project of the provincial government under the Provincial Information Office-Media Affairs. Said office has the thrust to give a reliable and timely information in its locality towards a more efficient and effective delivery of public services to all Dinagatnons. |

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan, as the legislative body of the province, shall enact ordinances, approve resolutions, and appropriate funds for the general welfare of the province and its inhabitants; pursuant to Section 16 of RA 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991; and, in the proper exercise of the corporate powers of this province.
Pursuant thereto, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan have adopted and approved twenty-six (26) resolutions (on the second and final reading) and thirteen (13) ordinances (on third and final reading) during the 52nd, 53rd,54th, 55th, and 56th Regular Sessions held last October 8, 14, 21, and 28, 2008 respectively, to wit: |
